Here’s my most recent painting in process.
Gorgeous. It is very generous of you to take the time to document and share your process like this. I learned a lot in my quick click through. Can’t help but see something of my likeness in hunter. But I’m sure there are a lot brown-haired bearded types out there in the woods.
He’s wearing my shoes if that’s any consolation. I try to implicate myself in any visual accusations, though I never really conceived of this as a painting about the horrors of hunting (though I admittedly feel that way on occasion). Rather, I thought this was about upheaval in ecosystems without a pinpoint as to the source of the upheaval. I guess I like to think it’s a good thing if we can see ourselves in a painting’s narrative. Thanks for your comment. You’re officially the first.
I do love to see other painters’ processes and progress, even when it’s someone whose work I’m already pretty familiar with. Thank you so much for sharing these images.
